Universal Orlando Resort announced Thursday the 2018 edition of Halloween Horror Nights will feature 10 haunted houses, the most in the 28-year history of the event.
This year's Halloween Horror Nights will run for 34 select nights between September 14 and November 3, which will give travel agents and their clients more scares than ever before.
One of the main focuses of the 2018 events will be homages to movies from the 1980s, as well as other cinematic greats, slasher films, cult classics and original nightmares, including Netflix's sci-fi thriller Stranger Things and Legendary Pictures' Trick 'r Treat.
While Universal Orlando officials announced it will reveal more details about the 10th haunted house soon, the theme park company revealed the houses will be accompanied by an additional five sinister scare zones.
Universal revealed the theme of several scare zones guests will face when entering the park, including material girl and metal head vampires in Vamp 85: New Year's Eve, rotted pumpkins and fetid vines in Twisted Tradition and decrepit creatures in The Harvest.
In addition, the Academy of Villains will return with an all-new performance.
For travel agents, vacation packages are on sale now for this year's Halloween Horror Nights, with prices starting at $215 per adult, per night. The packages include four-night hotel accommodations, park-to-park daytime admission to all three theme parks, admission to Halloween Horror Nights and more.
