At one Japanese hotel, you can look your traveling companion straight in the eye and tell them to hold the conversation because you have to speak to the robot dinosaur about your reservations.

Such a thing isn't the stuff of fiction, resting in pop culture like some parody of "Jurassic World." No, checking in with robots, whether they resemble dinosaurs or humans, is a very real amenity at the Henn-na Hotel in Nagasaki, Japan.

TravelPulse's Ryan Rudnansky regaled us with news of the fancy hotel and its robot overlords back in February.

However, it's time to pull back the curtain on the hotel that is staffed almost entirely by robots, which, as you will soon see, come in a great many forms. The hotel opens July 17, so let's celebrate accordingly.

The Wall Street Journal gives us a tour with the following video:

As you can see, the robots are in place to welcome your bewilderment but to also make your stay as comfortable as possible.

When we think of robots we usually consider the kind that go back in time to save John Connor or serve justice as some newfangled RoboCop.

Thankfully, the ensuing bedlam and devastation we might think would come from a robot takeover is kept to a minimum.

Even the adorable robot that leads you to your room seems to move at a sensible pace that would have a snail asking why things were taking so long.

Alas, we absolutely love the idea, and we can't get enough of the images posted on Twitter:

Now you can get more information about the appropriately named "Strange Hotel" at the official website.

Rudnansky does offer a bit more detail on an establishment that will continue to grow in time: "The first phase of the two-story hotel will be unveiled on July 17, featuring 72 rooms. The second phase will include another 72 rooms and is scheduled to be completed in 2016."

According to the report, initial reservations will be held by bid, with rooms starting at $60.

Finally, we get to see a bit more images on the peculiar hotel that is nearly devoid of human staff.

The only downside, aside from the obvious lack of human interaction, is that getting any pod bay doors open will prove extremely difficult.
