LEGOLAND New York Resort will introduce a new one-of-a-kind attraction this summer with the debut of the new Minifigure Skyflyer.
The gondola-style ride is a first for LEGOLAND Resorts and will provide guests with an interactive way to travel between the park's themed lands.
The ride will feature seven individually themed Party Pods—including pirates, space and disco—with in-flight interactivity features such as teaching guests how to talk like a pirate, speak in a space alien language or participate in a sing-along.
Each pod is ADA-accessible and can seat up to 10 people.
Before they board, guests can help "charge" the cable car batteries through hand-powered cranks. A rainbow road will lead to the boarding platform's disco-themed dance floor, complete with LEGO brick disco ball lights. Guests are also greeted by the resort's famous minifigures who'll tell the story of how they developed the Minifigure Skyflyer.
"There's a lot to enjoy at LEGOLAND New York, but it's a big resort and our fans asked us for more ways to move easily from the upper and lower levels of the park," Divisional Director of LEGOLAND New York Stephanie Johnson said in a statement. "We take our guests' feedback seriously and the Minifigure Skyflyer gives them a way to do exactly that while igniting creativity, sparking imagination, and inspiring movement through disco and dance."
Future guests can preview the Minifigure Skyflyer through a special partnership between LEGOLAND New York and Belleayre Mountain in the Catskills that features a pair of specially-themed ski gondolas available now through April.
What's more, riders can scan a QR code to receive exclusive access to "Kids Go Free" tickets with the purchase of an adult ticket.
LEGOLAND New York opened for its first full season in 2022, and debuted its new LEGO City Water Playground last summer.
