In a further illustration of its commitment to expand its portfolio of hotels in Mexico, Hilton Hotels & Resorts debuted a 123-room property in the charming colonial city of San Luis Potosi.
"Mexico continues to play a leading role in our Latin America expansion plans," said Tom Potter, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America for Hilton Worldwide. "Projects like these are a perfect complement to our existing portfolio of more than 30 hotels in Mexico, and position us for further growth throughout the country and region."
It is one of just a handful of full-service hotels in the city. "The history and charm of San Luis Potosi lends itself to a city known for art, culture and architecture and the opening of this property highlights the importance of this region as we continue our brand's expansion throughout Latin America," said Rob Palleschi, Hilton Worldwide's global head, full service brands.
The Hilton San Luis Potosi was designed to reflect the city's colonial past, which is evidenced in its hacienda-style exterior. The three-story hotel is equipped with a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, and both Mexican and international cuisine. Lighter fare is available through 1 p.m. at an indoor/outdoor bar featuring a specialty tequila and mezcal menu.
The hotel's rooms and suites feature luxury bedding, 32-inch LCD televisions, Wi-Fi accessibility and large bathrooms.
Hilton said the property is being targeted to both leisure and business travelers. It boasts 9,000 feet of meetings space, which includes a 7,000-foot ballroom, as well as 1,000 feet of outdoor function space.
The property also boasts a pool, fitness and artisan gift shop.
Located 15 miles from the airport, the Hilton San Luis Potosi is set in the city's Lomas neighborhood close to the city's historical center, as well as an array of restaurants, shops and attractions.
