Delta Air Lines Suspends Israel Flights Through October 31

Delta Air Lines sent an official notice on August 21 confirming that it will continue the suspension of its flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv, Israel through October 31, 2024. 

The airline previously had planned to resume flights to Israel on September 1, dependent on the state of the conflict there. As it has not changed, the airline will not resume flights until at least November 1.

Those impacted by the change have been contacted and will receive a travel waiver. Delta's partner airlines Air France and El AL Israel Airlines continue their service, both of which remain bookable on Delta's website. 

All American airlines are not offering flights to Israel until at least October of this year. American Airlines recently announced that it would extend its suspension of flights to Israel through March 2025. As of July 31, United Airlines also suspended operating in Israel and gave no date as to when it would return. 

The U.S. Department of State discourages American travelers from visiting Israel, and warns not to travel to Gaza or to northern Israel, near the borders of Lebanon and Syria. It also encourages travelers to reconsider travel to Israel and the West Bank due to terrorism and civil unrest.

The major American airlines have been stopping and restarting service intermittently since the conflict began in October 2023.
