Oceania Cruises has welcomed its newest ship, the Vista, at Finantieri’s shipyard in Genoa, Italy, the first of its new Allura Class ships.
The Vista offers space for 1,200 guests and features three new dining concepts, new entertainment concepts and more. The ship will be christened on May 8, 2023 in a ceremony on Valletta, Malta by its godmother, chef, author, restaurateur and award-winning food personality, Giada De Laurentiis. The ceremony will be livestreamed for those who register.
The first itineraries the ship will sail will be in the Mediterranean; in the autumn, the Vista will be sailing along Canada and New England before reaching the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America for the winter.

New features for the ship include Ember, featuring elevated American cuisine; Aquamar Kitchen, which features wellness offerings; and The Bakery at Baristas, an expanded cafe featuring a variety of French and Italian pastries.

Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. “We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.”
The ship’s leadership team comprises experienced individuals like Captain Luca Manzi, who has over three decades of experience; Staff Captain Edgardo Cossu, whose experience ranges from local ferries and private yachts to cargo and cruise ships; General Manager Dominique Nicolle, who began working as a chef in high-end restaurants in Germany before taking to life at sea; and Executive Chef Frederic Camonin, who spent the past twenty years as a chef at sea following his culinary education in France.
