Hawaiian Airlines announced that tickets are now on sale for
the carrier’s new daily nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Honolulu,
Hawaii.
Starting on May 15, Hawaiian
will serve the route with the 189-seat Airbus A321neo aircraft, with the first flight
departing from Honolulu at 6:50 p.m. local time and arriving in Utah at 5:15 a.m.
the following day.
The second flight is scheduled to depart from Salt Lake City
at 7 a.m., with a 9:55 a.m. arrival time in Hawaii. With the addition of the
service, the Utah city becomes Hawaiian’s 16th gateway city in the continental
United States.
“We know this new route will excite travelers in both Utah
and Hawaiʻi given our tourism and education ties, and shared Pacific Island
communities,” Hawaiian President and CEO Peter Ingram said. “We are eager to
strengthen these relationships when we launch our service next summer.”
The airline’s A321neos will offer passengers complimentary
meals, textiles that pay homage to traditional crafts, Hawaiian language
signage and sand-inspired wall panels. The planes also feature 16 leather
recliners in Premium Cabin, 45 Extra Comfort premium economy seats and 128
Economy seats.
In addition, passengers will have access to wireless
streaming entertainment, USB outlets, and additional overhead stowage space.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hawaiian Airlines to Salt Lake
City International,” Salt Lake City International Airport Executive Director Bill
Wyatt said. “Hawaii is not only a favorite destination for Utahns to vacation,
but is also a popular location for family members to visit.”
Earlier this year, Hawaiian announced the restart of weekly service
between Japan
and Hawaii, starting this fall. The carrier will return to its original
thrice-weekly schedule in March 2024.
