Amtrak Announces Northeast Winter Getaway Sale

If a train getaway in the Northeast is on your to-do list for early 2024, now is the time to book the tickets.

Amtrak has just announced 20 percent off for passengers who purchase Northeast Regional Coach and Acela Business Class fares between now and December 19. The sale-priced tickets are valid from January 2 - February 29, 2024 and can be used on routes running to and from Boston, Washington D.C., New York City, Virginia, and beyond.

The sale means one-way coach fares between Boston and Providence on the Northeast Regional train can be snagged for as low as $4, while tickets for Acela Business class on the same route are as low as $14.

Traveling one-way between Philadelphia and Washington D.C. will set you back a mere $14 for coach seats on the Northeast Regional, while Acela Business seats for the same route are only $39. One-way tickets between Philadelphia and New York are equally budget friendly at $15 and $36 respectively for the two classes of seats.

Here are some of Amtrak's additional one-way ticket bargains to put on your radar:

• Baltimore to New York: $21 coach; $52 Acela business class
• New York to Boston: $24 coach; $45 for Acela business clas
• Washington D.C. to New York: $24 coach; $56 Acela business clas
• New Haven to Washington D.C.: $24 coach; $56 Acela business class

Both the Northeast Regional or Acela trains include a cafe car, Quiet Car, and free Wi-Fi.

Amtrak also recently announced that tickets for its Winter Park Express Service, which connects Denver to the base of the Winter Park Resort slopes, are now on sale for the 2024 season.
