An exciting update
has just been unveiled, as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa at Walt
Disney World Resort announced the reopening date for its 1900
Park Fare restaurant, arriving April 10, 2024. This iconic dining
destination will welcome guests once again with a combination of returning guest-favorite
menu items, and newly refurbished spaces and special touches.
Here are some
highlights guests can anticipate upon the restaurant’s reopening.
Enchanting Character
Encounters: The revamped
character dining experience at 1900 Park Fare will feature beloved Disney
characters making appearances during breakfast and dinner—some for the first
time in this location. Notably, Aladdin in his Prince Ali guise, Cinderella,
Mirabel and Tiana in her new look created especially for Tiana’s Bayou
Adventure will join guests in celebrating the power of wishes.
Feasts Fit for
Royalty: Guests can
indulge in an enchanting buffet spread for breakfast and dinner—showcasing such
returning favorites as the famous strawberry soup—set out alongside a
smattering of brand-new culinary creations by the hotel’s talented culinary
team, many of which are directly inspired by beloved Disney characters and tales
you’ll see referenced throughout the restaurant.
Homages To Its
Heritage: The restaurant
pays tribute to its own storied past with nods to its previous incarnation that
many fans will recognize. Visitors will encounter Big Bertha, the antique organ
that has been a fixture at the resort since 1988, prominently displayed in the
main dining room. Additionally, classical carousel theming is once again
interwoven throughout the spaces, including a striking new mural at the restaurant’s
entrance. In an adjoining room, diners might pick up on drawings of carousel
animals and other hidden details inspired by such classic Disney films as “Alice
in Wonderland” and “The Little Mermaid”.
Exclusive New Artwork: Such artistic touches continue throughout
the main dining room, where guests will notice twelve new portraits, which have
been designed exclusively for the restaurant by Disney artists. These
portraits, influenced by the Impressionist art movement of the late 19th and
early 20th centuries, depict various Disney characters in whimsical
scenes of wishful thinking.
Creating
Magical Memories: 1900
Park Fare has long been an enchanting backdrop for creating some of guests’
most cherished vacation memories. Its ambiance captures the carefree spirit of
turn-of-the-century gardens and fairgrounds, where people of all ages came to
lighten their hearts and enjoy good times together. With the spirit of the era brought
to life in every detail, the renewed restaurant offers the perfect spot for celebrating
precious moments with loved ones.
