In a comprehensive and supremely on-brand modernization project, Disneyland Resort’s existing Paradise Pier Hotel is in the midst of a transformation into the new Pixar Place Hotel, and new details have emerged as to its progress.

Disney Parks today released a first look at the hotel’s all-new “Finding Nemo”-themed aquatic play area, where families can splish and splash alongside the famous fish and his ocean-dwelling friends at the revamped Pixel Pool.

From August 1, guests will be able to take a totally tubular trip down Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, a 186-foot-long twisting and turning waterslide that fan-favorite sea turtle Crush sits atop as he supervises youngsters' efforts at riding their own rip currents.

Little ones will want to spend some time exploring the kid-friendly Nemo’s Cove area, where Hank the septopus from “Finding Dory” presides over the pop-jet splash pad that’s perfect for the tiniest tots.

In keeping with the hotel’s new Pixar-specific storytelling, guests will enjoy interactive games and imaginative free-play areas filled with characters from Pixar’s well-known feature films, as well as the more obscure (but equally adorable) animated shorts, such as “La Luna”, “Bao”, “For the Birds” and “Burrow”. When it’s time to relax, guests can even sip and favor food and drinks under the lovestruck red and blue umbrellas from “The Blue Umbrella”.

The 15-story-high Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, which overlooks Disney California Adventure park, has already begun morphing its exterior surface with the application of bright new colors. Rather than shutting down during the current renovation, it continues to welcome guests amid the evolution into Pixar Place Hotel.

During this transition period, guests with hotel reservations and valid park tickets still enjoy the benefits of staying at one of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort, including early park entry to enjoy select attractions and a special, separate entrance to Disney California Adventure park, as well as matchless proximity to Disneyland park and the vibrant Downtown Disney District.

Upon the renovation’s completion this winter, celebrated Southern California original Disneyland Resort will be the site of Disney Parks’ first fully Pixar-themed hospitality property.
