For those with an admiration for owls and a hankering for all-you-can-drink coffee, there is a haven for you tucked away in Tokyo.
YouTube's Stu in Tokyo (h/t Digg) once again lives up to his channel's moniker with an episode of his exploits bumping around the city.
And, just like a previous episode that showed us the glory of all-you-can-drink bars, this one shows us how to get a near bottomless cup of coffee.
Oh, and there are owls.
Perhaps we should have led with what is really the selling point of Akihabara's Forest Of Owl café in Tokyo, Japan.
While you enjoy sips of caffeinated power you can hang out with a bunch of wide-eyed owls.
The thing we love about Stu's videos is the immersive look at the less traveled parts of Tokyo.
As he states in the beginning, "Every man and his dog has seen a cat and coffee, right?" He continues, "The future, my friends, is owls."
And yes, even we chronicled Japan's love affair with animal cafes in a previous entry. Here we get a nice reminder that this oddity extends to captivated visitors enjoying a cup o' joe with owls.
As for the details, Stu states that this particular café will run you 1,000 yen or $8.30 for an hour in the establishment, which also gets you as much coffee as you want in that time. So if the coffee just isn't doing its job, you can be reinvigorated by the local wildlife.
A 2014 Business Insider article notes that there are several similar establishments lurking about the country: "Today, there are two owl cafes in Tokyo (Tori no Iru and Fukurou Sabou), and two in Osaka (Owl Family and Crew), all run by different owners."
Now the experience is sure to infuse any trip with wonder and awe, but you don't simply end the day there.
Stu and his partner in crime head out for a brilliant trip around the city, which ends with a stop at a vibrant party scene.
According to Stu in Tokyo, the club is "T2 Shibuya and was pretty friggin' awesome." But, we have to add, it can't be all that awesome. It surely suffers from a lack of owls.
