Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, today announced a major expansion of vacation options in Asia, with the addition of Indonesia and Malaysia as well as vacations to the Maldives for Pleasant Holidays, which previously had been exclusive to Journese. The new destinations are now open for booking.
The expansion adds 65 hotels to the two brands' portfolios, along with 11 hotels in the Maldives for Pleasant Holidays and an extensive selection of available commissionable activities, including private options, to enhance travelers' vacations and travel advisors' income alike. Intrepid travelers can choose from some 200 activities throughout Asia, including city tours, nature experiences, temple visits, cultural experiences, wildlife encounters and food tours in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Maldives.
"These new destinations offer travelers a chance to connect with nature and spirituality in Ubud on the Indonesian island of Bali, with its mountainside rice paddies, rainforest, cultural experiences and marketplace that served as the backdrop for the film 'Eat Pray Love,'" said Jack E. Richards, President and CEO. "Significant sights to see include Borobudur Temple on Java, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. Visitors to Malaysia can experience the urban sophistication of Kuala Lumpur and the island seclusion of Langkawi, or consort with elephants in the rainforest."
Two mini-packages are now available, offering the opportunity for a 1- or 2-night excursion. In Malaysia, the mini-package offers an overnight nature and wildlife adventure to see orangutans and sun bears, as well as an evening river cruise to discover local flora and fauna. Departing from Tokyo, the Kanazawa mini-package affords the chance to explore Takayama's old town, a lively market and Shirakawago Observatory, followed by a visit to a samurai residence, Japanese gardens, teahouse and shops.
Pleasant Holidays and Journese offer cruise vacations to Asia aboard Windstar Cruises, Scenic Cruise Lines and AmaWaterways, including pre- and post-cruise hotel stays with convenient port access. Pleasant Holidays also offers itineraries including Asia on Norwegian Cruise Line. Flights are available on all major airlines serving Asia and the Maldives from cities across the U.S.
