Guests visiting Walt Disney World's Festival of Fantasy parade Friday got more than they bargained for after a dragon float caught fire.
Disney World's public affairs department reported the Maleficent-themed creation of a dragon spitting fire went up in flames during the parade, forcing employees to stop the float and move guests away.
Workers jumped into action with fire extinguishers and put the fire out quickly. The Orlando park announced that no guests or cast members were injured.
So the #Dragon in the Disney world parade caught Fire today. This image is terrifying but I don't know why I want to laugh because I'm picturing in my head all the screaming children running down Main Street USA from a giant Flaming Dragon. I have issues pic.twitter.com/u7j4gXX2oC- Parrow (@Parrow_) May 12, 2018

In more positive news, the Walt Disney Co. announced during its second-quarter earnings call that its theme park division thrived, helping the brand top Wall Street forecasts. Disney CEO Bob Iger also revealed the company would consider expanding its theme park business in China and other markets.
