Disneyland is already a popular summer vacation destination, but the theme park is looking ahead to the fall and the vast array of Halloween events and attractions scheduled for this year.
Starting on September 7 and running through October 31, seasonal attraction overlays, Halloween decorations and themed food and beverage offerings will take over both California theme parks.
At Disneyland, guests will witness Main Street, U.S.A. adorned with Halloween decorations and events, including a giant Mickey Mouse jack-o'-lantern, a Pumpkin Festival, a Día de los Muertos tribute and two popular attractions transformed into their annual Halloween themes.
The Haunted Mansion will become Haunted Mansion Holiday, inspired by the Walt Disney Pictures classic Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Space Mountain in Tomorrowland will become Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, a reimagining of the popular ride.
As for the events at Disney California Adventure, Halloween decorations will extend along Buena Vista Street to Carthay Circle, including a 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman, Oogie Boogie's oversized silhouette and the transformation of two attractions into Halloween spectaculars.
The changes at California Adventure will be Radiator Springs turning into Radiator Screams and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! transforming nightly into Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark.
In addition, Mickey's Halloween Party will return with 15 nights of after-hours fun as a separate-ticket event featuring exclusive entertainment, Disney characters in Halloween attire, trick or treating at locations throughout Disneyland and a chance for visitors to wear their costumes to the park.
Tickets for Mickey's Halloween Party go on sale June 5 for annual passholders, Disney Vacation Club members and Disney Visa cardholders. For the rest of the general public, tickets go on sale June 12.
