Alaska Airlines customers traveling this summer will be able to use their loyalty club miles to book accommodations at more than 400,000 hotel properties worldwide.

For travelers who are part of the award-winning Alaska Mileage Plan program, an expanded partnership with hotel booking site Rocketmiles will give customers ample options for finding an affordable hotel this summer.

Alaska officials also announced the launch of MileagePlanHotels.com, which allows members to earn up to 10,000 Mileage Plan miles for every night and use their miles or a combination of cash and miles to book hotels, boutique properties and resorts.

"Redeeming miles for hotels was among the most requested enhancements to Mileage Plan, and our members now have the ability to redeem valuable Alaska miles for both flights and hotels," Alaska managing director Ryan Butz said in a statement. "This is particularly exciting for our Alaska Airlines credit cardholders, who will have access to discounted award pricing through Mileage Plan Hotels."

"Our Alaska Airlines Visa Signature cardholders not only earn Alaska miles on everyday purchases and save with our companion fare offer and free checked bags, but now have another way to use those miles," Butz continued. "It's now the only credit card Alaska flyers need."

The Alaska Mileage Plan program remains committed to providing members with various benefits, including rewarding members with miles based on how far they fly, the opportunity to earn miles on everyday spending, easy-to-earn elite benefits, award fares starting as low as 5,000 miles and now the ability to redeem miles for hotel stays when you get where you're going.

"This travel portal unlocks a new way for Mileage Plan members to use their coveted miles," Rocketmiles chief revenue officer Bart Welch said in a statement. "We look forward to strengthening the relationship and maximizing the value of Mileage Plan miles."
