As the travel industry prepares for the weekend, Disney unfurled several announcements about its theme parks and cruise line.
Travelers planning to take a voyage with Disney Cruise Line in November and December will be able to enjoy extra-special Very Merrytime Cruises sailings. The journeys feature themed holiday festivities, delicious feasts, snow flurries and decorative fanfare.
Walt Disney World Resort officials also revealed the 55 themed gondolas that will make up the Disney Skyliner system when it opens later this fall. Many of the gondolas feature stunning graphics based on Disney films.
The official YouTube page of Disney Parks shared a video of the new themed gondolas:
At the Disneyland Resort in California, the theme park will introduce Disney Flex Passport starting May 21. The passport will allow guests to access Disneyland and Disney California Adventure on select good-to-go days, with limited blackout days.
Guests with the new Disney Flex Passport will also be able to make reservations on other days for more access and hold two reservation days up to 30 days in advance.
Basketball fans have reason to rejoice as Disney World officials also announced tickets are now on sale for NBA Experience at Disney Springs.
When the attraction opens August 12, visitors will be able to participate in 13 interactive and hands-on activities, including shooting drills, working on dribbling skills and the chance to throw down a rim-rocking dunk.
Additionally, Disney will expand the Epcot International Food & Wine Festivalto 87 days this year. Delight your taste buds and sample food and drinks from around the world.
The event kicks off this year on August 29, which is the same day Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It runs through November 23, making it the longest food festival at the theme park.
