Sandals Resorts International revealed details on accommodations, dining and guest experiences for the $200 million renovation plan at Sandals Montego Bay, Sandals Caribbean Cay (renamed Sandals Royal Caribbean), and Sandals South Coast.
The renovations began following the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Melissa last fall, which resulted in the closure of the three resorts.
The trio of all-inclusive resorts is scheduled to begin welcoming guests again on Dec. 18, 2026.
Sandals Montego Bay
More than four decades after opening its doors, the 255-room resort – just for starters – will unveil a reimagined lobby design with panoramic sea views.
“A completely redesigned main pool will serve as the social heart of the resort, complemented by new swim-up accommodations and spacious ocean-view suites designed to bring guests closer to the shoreline,” Sandals said.
On the culinary front, the resort will add the popular seaside Buccan restaurant and debut Jamaica’s first Scrimshaw seafood restaurant.
“The Caribbean’s first-ever swim-up bar remains an iconic centerpiece of the resort as part of Parisol Beach Club, where the original bricks, carved with decades of guest names, have been preserved as a tribute to the resort's history,” Sandals said. “Guests can also discover Bay Roc Rum Club, a signature rum experience inspired by the property's origins as Bay Roc Hotel & Villas and the rise of Caribbean music.”
Sandals Caribbean Cay
Renovations for the former Sandals Royal Caribbean start with an “open-air lobby, where uninterrupted views of the main pool and the Caribbean Sea beyond create an immediate connection to the water,” Sandals said.
The property will also receive 84 new guestrooms, bringing the total to 291, including new categories: SkyPool Suites and Swim-up Suites, in addition to new Oceanview Butler Suites, which are scheduled to debut in June 2027.
“Updates further extend to the resort’s private island, Sandals Cay, where Parisol Beach Club creates a laid-back retreat accessible exclusively by boat,” Sandals said. “Guests can enjoy the new dining venue, Parisol, or grab a quick bite at the Jerk Shack before spending the day enjoying a swim-up bar, pool and palapas perched along the sand.”
The resort is also introducing Suppa, “a homegrown supper-style restaurant and ode to the tradition of gathering around the table for Sunday dinner,” Sandals said.
The Keynote Rum Bar will provide guests with a cozy “parlor” ambiance and an array of premium Caribbean rums, and Heart & Sol will offer grab-and-go juices, sandwiches and healthy food bowls.
The property will also unveil a new ocean-view fitness center and elevated Overwater Butler Villas.
Sandals South Coast
“Surrounded by a 500-acre nature preserve, the 380-room Sandals South Coast has long been celebrated for its secluded setting and deep connection to nature,” Sandals said of the report, which is set to reopen on Nov. 18, 2026.
“The resort’s evolution builds on that legacy with enhancements designed to complement one of Jamaica's most captivating coastlines,” the company added.
The property will debut Sandal’s first Beachfront Club Two Queen Junior Suites, which will cater to groups traveling together.
Sandals South Coast will also unveil BLŪM, which will offer Blue Mountain coffee along with pastries and “light bites.”
Culinary options will include Butch’s Island Chop House, a steak and seafood restaurant equipped with a martini bar, and plans for Jamaica’s fourth Rum bar are also underway.
Rooted in Heritage, Evolving for the Future
“Jamaica is at the heart of the Sandals story, and these investments reflect our commitment to its future,” said Sandals Resorts Executive Chairman Adam Stewart.
“For us, dreaming bigger wasn’t about adding more. It was about creating a Sandals 2.0 experience that also feels connected to our home,” he added.
“From new cuisines rooted in Jamaica’s traditions to spaces designed to reflect the island’s natural beauty, this next chapter is about building on that legacy and continuing to move the guest experience forward in a way that is not only elevated but evolved.”
