Disney Springs, the shopping, dining and entertainment complex that sits adjacent to the "happiest place on earth," is upping the ante on fast-casual cuisine this summer with the addition of Chicken Guy!, a new eatery from celebrity chef Guy Fieri and restauranteur Robert Earl.
The new-concept restaurant, which at its core will be all about pairing flavorful chicken tenders with a variety of savory sauces, will open its flagship location at Disney Springs "soon" but also has plans to expand into a larger, nationwide chain.
"I'm stoked to be building Chicken Guy! with my friend, Robert Earl," said Fieri. "It's all about the real deal, all-natural chicken but lemme tell you, our sauce game is on point."
Chicken Guy! Is the second partnership for the Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins host and the founder and chairman of Planet Hollywood restaurants.
Previously Fieri worked with Earl to revamp the sandwich and burger menu at Planet Hollywood.
"Since then, we have kept in touch, determined to work on more projects together," said Earl. "We have found the perfect venture with Chicken Guy!, certain to be a crowd-pleaser. I have personally tasted all the menu items and can't wait to open at Disney Springs and across the country, because I know our guests will love what Guy has put on the menu."
For most, their Chicken Guy! order will consist of fresh chicken tenders, which are "hand-pounded to maximize crunch" according to the restaurant press release. The tenders are brined in fresh lemon juice, pickle brine and buttermilk, and infused with fresh herbs, and can be ordered grilled or fried.
The tenders, which are served in sandwiches, on skewers or in meal-sized salad bowls, are accompanied by a "wide array" of sauces.
There's no mention if Fieri's signature Donkey Sauce will be among the offerings.
Other menu items include Guy Fieri's fries, mac 'n cheese, fried pickles and fresh slaw. Frozen dessert offerings are also available.
The flagship Chicken Guy! will feature indoor and outdoor seating, and food will also be available for carryout, in case you just want to chill back at your Disney Springs resort area hotel.
The restaurant is the latest addition to Fieri's restaurant empire, which also includes barbecue venues onboard Carnival Cruise Line ships.
